Official Policy on Suspended Games

In a suspended game, you pick up where you left off, same lineup, same batting order, etc. A pitcher may not return who has already pitched in the game and been removed from the mound. Also, the pitchers who were on record at the end of the game may continue to pitch as long as they do not exceed the maximum number of innings in one game.

As for players, a batter who cannot make the suspended game may be replaced in the batting order by another player who was absent at the original game date. Also, a player who was not present at the original game date may replace any player in the batting order, however, he cannot simply be added to the batting order of the original game.

If a player cannot make the suspended game, and there is no replacement, his place is skipped in the batting order at no penalty. However, the batting order must contain at least 9 players to qualify as a complete game.

The home team is still going to have to pay the full umpire fee of $40 for any remaining portion of the suspended game. In terms of time limits, the clock starts all over again. The time limit applies to the same day of a game
